My passion and expertise lies in developing resources, event programming and trainings to help people craft remarkable careers.
women and color speaker bootcamp
When you live in a city like Toronto that prides itself on being one of the most ‘diverse’ cities in the world, it can get pretty frustrating when you continue to attend events and there’s no one speaking on stage that looks like you.
I partnered with non-profit organization, Women and Color, to launch a public speaking bootcamp for folks that identify as women, people of colour and members of the LGBTQA+ community. Since 2018, we have launched the public speaking careers of over 60+ people across Toronto and the U.S. Learn more + apply for the next cohort here: bootcamp.womenandcolor.com
accelerate her future
Career advice is not a one-size fits all. Women of colour require a unique strategy to be able to effectively navigate the intersection of work, race and gender.
I’m proud to be a part of the leadership team for Accelerate Her Future, a first-of-its-kind accelerator program for women of colour in college/university interested in pursuing a career in business and tech.
As the Programming Lead, I have built out the full-day program for their inaugural summit on October 25, 2019 filled with keynote, panels and workshops. The agenda takes an intersectional approach to topics such as personal branding and networking to best equip attendees with the skills and confidence to claim their power in the workplace.
Bumble ‘one connection hub’
In April 2019, I partnered with Bumble as a personal brand mentor for their One Connection Hub in Toronto to promote their Bumble BFF app. I provided 20-minute, one-on-one sessions to over 14 attendees to give them advice on navigating the art of personal branding as an entrepreneur, corporate employee - or both!
From 2014-2016, I launched and ran an highly-rated, intimate networking event series for women living outside of the downtown Toronto area. Limited to only 10 attendees, I developed practical, engaging and affordable event programming on personal branding, collaboration and finding your ‘why’. I worked in partnership with local brands and organizations including Microsoft Store, Scaddabush restaurant, Nine West, Panago Pizza and more to bring the series to life.
Make Lemonade Blog
Make Lemonade is a co-working space for women in downtown Toronto. I joined the team to lead the launch of their blog and I created the editorial strategy. I developed compelling questions and then conducted interviews with inspiring female entrepreneurs and corporate leaders in Toronto to tell their stories of resilience. In other words, how did they make lemonade when life handed them a lemon?
